The Top Ten

So I have been talking about Big Brother All-Stars relentlessly for a while now. It occurs to me that anyone who doesn't really watch the show might actually think these people were the best players. In my opinion some of them are not. I got to thinking about it and I decided to try to pick my top ten best players. Now they aren't really my favorite people but they are the best players I think (in no particular order):

Will

The Evil Doctor Feel Good

strategy:
He Lied his way all the way to the bank.

Why he won:
He told the house guests he was lying and they still believed him...in the end he even said he would blow all the money. He was the most honest liar ever!

Janelle

The Brainy Buxom Blonde

strategy:
She was really the little engine that could. She surprised everyone buy winning lots of competitions and clear strategic thinking. She accessed her competition by playing chess with them.

Why she lost:
She never had a chance to win...especially when she was left in the final four with no allies!

Maggie

Master of Minions

strategy:
She was silent and deadly. She never did any of her dirty work.

Why she won:
The kept her nose clean and convinced her entire alliance that she was the second coming.

Danielle

The Mastermind

strategy:
The only player in Big Brother history never to be nominated for eviction. She was the only person in BB history to have a secret alliance till the end of the game. She stayed in the shadows and attacked with a vengeance when she needed to. She referred to herself as "the dark side" to her partner's personality.

Why she lost:
She was too honest in her diary sessions. She told the truth and the other players hated her for it.

Lisa

The Coat Tailer

strategy:
She was shy and demure. She never said much about her tactics in the game.

Why Lisa won:
She let everyone else pick each other off. She saved her energy until the end of the game and won the competitions that mattered. She found her final competitor's weakness and exploited it.

Jun

The Wicked Chef

strategy:
She cooked for everyone and stayed in the heart of the house.

Why she won:
She floated from group to group until there were no groups left.

Alison

The Fire Starter

strategy:
Loud and brash behavior was Ali's tactic. She had her game on from the moment she entered the house.

Why she lost:
She never bothered to care about people's feelings.

Drew

The Boy Next Door

strategy:
He was a one woman man until the final three then he dumped her for a cowboy!

Why He Won:
He won because he dumped his "girlfriend" (who carried his ass through the show) and took his best friend (Cowboy) who he knew he could beat.

Diane

Love's Bitch

strategy:
She was an "in your face" player who wasn't afraid of anyone.

Why she lost:
She fell for Drew who dumped her ass when he got to the final three.

Nicole

The Mean Girl

strategy:
Another "Type A" girl who alienated everyone in the house from her. She spoke her mind and made tough decisions

Why she lost:
She took Will to the final two.

Turkey Slapping

So have you ever heard of turkey slapping? Apparently it happened on Big brother Australia! The guys were immediately kicked off the show! The Prime Minister freaked out and issued a statement saying they should take this opportunity to get smut off television. I'm sure you can tell I was paraphrasing!

Here is the incident:

It seemed in poor taste but quite innocent to me...

Big Brother Starts!

So apparently America picked:

Janelle, Erika, Nakomis, Diane

Howie, Kasar, James, Jase

The Producers picked
:

Dr Will, Marcellas, Danielle, Mike Boogie, Chicken George, Allison

Will and Mike think Kaysar needs to go. Everyone wants to break up the BB6 players (Janelle, James, Kasar, Howie)

Danielle made huge mistakes telling George and Alison strategic things...Janelle and Jase won head of household and nominated Danielle and Alison. Alison actually tried to talk Jase into not agreeing with Janelle so they would be nominated! Stupid bitch! I think the house will evict Ali if she doesn't win veto. The only alliance I see on the feeds is Marcellas and Janelle (they are talking strategy as I'm typing this). They want to watch the "Ambers" (this is a reference to Amber from Survivor who won the all-star round of that show) . They say Erika is an "Amber". They also say Nakomis and Diane are too. I really think Alison will be gone next week.
They think chicken George is an Amber too! God this discussion they are having about what an "Amber" is hilarious! They are all like: "If you are talking to someone and you feel like you don't have to talk about the game: AMBER ALERT!" They are also discussing the prospect of killing part of the "Mr and Mrs Smith" alliance. I can't figure out if that is Jase and Diane or Jase and Ali. I'll tell you when I figure it out. Oh! Marcellas has a crush on Mike Boogie.
I guess that is it for now...more when I know...

The Lost Buffy Promo

Apparently there was a promo that the WB showed just before Buffy first aired that talked about the history of the slayers. This promo was never shown again in America and was never shown in Europe! I have looked for it for a long time and tonight I finally found it! Since you were so kind in indulging me and my little "favorite episodes" tangent I decided you deserved a nice gift.

The History of the Slayer

Hope you enjoyed!

Big Brother All-Stars Spoilers
If you don't want to know who is in the house don't read this!!!!

So the folks at BB let us hear about 45 minutes of houseguest (who are already in the house) chatter! People are saying it was a slip up but I think they did it on purpose! The first six ( in alphabetical order) are:

pretty good choices...the next six are:

and one twist is there are two extra players:

Apparently Jase and Janelle have won the first Head of Household competition and they must agree on two people to nominate for eviction from the house. If they don't agree then the two of them will be nominated. Allison is trying to convince Jase to disagree no matter what so that they can rally to evict Janelle. Apparently everyone from season 6 (Janelle, Howie, Kasar, and James) is in an alliance (that is speculation) and the rest of the house wants to break them up.
Allison is a total bitch who annoys me to no end...if they were smart everyone would get rid of her! I will be rooting for Danielle, Janelle, George, Nakomis, and Will. At least they are my favorites going into tomorrow's show.
If you'd like to hear the live feed conversations you can! Just click here!

I will give you my thoughts on tomorrow's show late tomorrow evening (if I feel like it)!

Buffy Favorites Part 3 seasons 6 and 7

So I know I said there were only 25 episodes....I decided to throw in a bonus one! Enjoy!

Remember...there are possible spoilers below...

Season 6

Bargaining (parts one and two)
So UPN decided to pick up the the series! YAY! This is the most controversial season because it dealt with much darker themes. I actually loved this season but there are many who didn't (including my boyfriend). This two hour season debut was the story of how Buffy came back into the picture. I love: Buffybot, Spike and Dawn, the new and improved Willow.

Anya: "Does this mean we win?"

Once More, With Feeling

A musical demon has been summoned to Sunnydale...but who summoned him? This is the famous musical episode...and the episode where the most background information for the season is given to us. I love this episode! Props to the actors and crew for going there also! I decided the best way to give you an idea about this episode was to give you a scene!!! Yay!

Buffy: "So did anybody... last night, you know, did anybody, um... burst into song?"

Tabula Rasa

Everyone falls asleep and when they awake they have no idea who they are! AHHH! This is a really fun "what if" episode. It's really one of the best of the series!

Buffy: "I'm like a superhero or something!"

Normal Again

This is probably my very favorite episode ever. Lost totally ripped it off also! I guess Buffy ripped it off from Star Trek so...well , who cares! It's awesome and it freaked people out on the net for months!

Buffy: "I'm okay, Dawn."
Dawn: "The thousand-yard stare really helps sell that."

Two to Go / Grave

These episodes have it all...death, destruction, good characters go bad...and we find out who the "big bad" of the season really is. My faves: the return of Giles, Anya the messenger, Dawn gets balls, and Xander and Willow in the end!

Willow: "Get off, superbitch!"

Season 7 (Final Season)

Selfless

This season was about going back to the basics! We go back to the new Sunnydale High with Dawn and Buffy becomes the highschool councillor! This is Anya's Fool For Love episode. It is funny and tragic at the same time. A lie from season 2 comes out too! This is just damned good, WATCH IT!

BUFFY: " I have to kill Anya."

Conversations With Dead People

Hands down the scariest episode of Buffy ever! I think it was scarier than HUSH!

WILLOW: "From beneath you, it devours."

Potential

This is the episode that made me love Dawn and Xander. I think Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn) is just wonderful here. Apparently she had gone to Joss Whedon and requested that Dawn be less of a whiney victim. There is a moment in this episode that Dawn grows up and it is lovely. Xander's speech at the end is heartbreaking.

XANDER: "You're not special. You're extraordinary."

Chosen (series finale)

Well, this is it Y'all! This is the last episode of Buffy ever. I really loved it. My only complaint is that I wish it were a two hour finale because sometimes it felt a little rushed. Buffy goes up against an opponent she cannot beat. She makes a decision that will change the legacy of the slayer forever. Favorite moments: the original four have a moment before the big battle, Spike's punching bag, Anya's Bunny focus, and the Sunnydale sign!

GILES: "The earth is definitely doomed."

Well, I hope if you have never watched this show (and you are turned off by the title) you will take an opportunity to check it out. Anyone of these episodes will draw you in...but I suggest you start with season 1. If you are a fan: feel free to leave a message with your favorite episode! If you never thought you liked one of the episodes I listed go back and watch again--you may be surprised!

Buffy favorites part two: Seasons 4 and 5

Once again I will try not to have too many spoilers but just in case: BE AWARE YOU MAY SEE SPOILERS BELOW!!!!

Season 4

Hush

The gang has graduated and now they are making their way through the college years. This was an almost completely silent episode! It was also the first episode of Buffy I had ever seen. The music is great! Highlights for me were Willow goes to her first Wicca meeting, Giles tries to debrief the gang through sketching, and the gentlemen! BMS!!!

Riley:" Well. I guess we have to talk."
Buffy: "I guess we do."
(The two sit in awkward, dead silence.)

The I in Team

This isn't on a lot of favorites lists but I loved it. Buffy meets the initiative! The speech she gives at the end is very powerful. We also get to meet the Big Bad of season four in this episode.

Buffy: "If you think that's enough to kill me, you really don't know what a Slayer is. Trust me when I say you're gonna find out."

This Year's Girl/Who Are You?

Faith returns! The mayor leaves her a contingency plan and she goes about reconnecting with people. Unfortunately her connection with Buffy is a little too close for comfort. I love this mini-arc!

Willow: "She's like this cleavagey slutbomb walking around going 'Ooh. Check me out, I'm wicked cool. I'm five by five.'"
Tara: "Five by five? Five what by five what?"
Willow: "See, that's the thing. No one knows."

Restless

I think I can safely say this is the strangest episode of Buffy ever made. It is all in a dream reality. You get great hints about what is to come in season 5. Highlights for me are the first slayer, the cheese guy, and the joke Anya is obsessed with hearing.

Cheese Guy (to Giles, while wearing two slice of cheese on his head): I wear the cheese, it does not wear me.

Season 5

Real Me

Season 5 began and everyone was shocked to find a new addition to the cast! Who was this person and why were they there??? I wish I could tell you this episode gives you all the answers--but it doesn't. It does give you a nice look at how the person fits in the scheme of things though. Highlight for me was hands down Harmony!!! I love that bitch!

Xander: 'Fraid you and your buddies are gonna have to come back and be killed by Buffy later.
Harmony: They're not my buddies. They're my minions.

Xander: They're what now?
Harmony: Minions! You know, lackeys?

Fool For Love

Buffy goes to Spike to find out how exactly he managed to kill two previous Slayers. We get to see who Spike was before he was Spike. I love this episode! I also love that we get to see two previous slayers in action!

Spike: "Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you."

Checkpoint

Buffy tries to jump through hoops to get into The Council's good graces. I like this one because she finds out exactly what she will stand for and what she won't. Her ultimatum is definitely one of the highlights. I also loved the interviews with her friends!

Buffy: " I've had a lot of people lining up to tell me how unimportant I am and I've finally figured out why. Power. I have it. They don't. "

The Body

This is probably the best written episode ever in my opinion. Something happens that is completely out of the blue and Buffy's world changes forever. Notice there isn't a soundtrack to this episode.

Joyce: "I think we're just about ready for pie."

The Gift

This was the 100th episode and Buffy was cancelled by the WB. This could have been the last episode of the series. Some people would argue that it should have been. I love this episode...it has everything I love about the series in it. The "previously on" section at the beginning was a montage of clips from what seemed to be every episode leading up to it.
note: it isn't on the season five dvd set but is hidden on the season seven set--if you'd like to see it you can find out how to access it HERE

Buffy: "The spirit guide told me that death is my gift. I guess that means a Slayer really is just a killer after all."

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

So anyone that knows me knows I was a huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan. I LOVED that show. I sat down recently and thought, "If I wanted to hook someone on Buffy (which I have on many occasions) what episodes would I suggest they watch?" It was a tough question. I sat down today to make a list of my favorite episodes in each season. I've narrowed it down to the top twenty five! Keep in mind that some of these are two part episodes. If I felt like I liked one half better I just listed it...in most cases I chose to list them together as a unit.

I urge you (if you haven't already) to go out and rent these seasons. They are well written and acted. You will start to crave them like a damned crack addict!

I'm going to try not to have spoilers! Just in case: THERE MAY BE SPOILERS HERE!

Today I'm going to discuss my favorites from Season 1 through Season 3:

Season 1

Welcome to the Hellmouth

This is the first episode of the series and you get introductions to all the characters that you will grow to love. Bless SMG's ( Sarah Michelle Geller for future reference) little heart! She is working that tired late nineties look for all it's worth...you have to see those boots she's in! The production value isn't great but you have so much fun watching that it doesn't matter. Definitely a BMS (Buffy Must See).

Buffy: "It's my first day! I was afraid that I was gonna be behind in all of my classes, that I wouldn't make any friends, that I would have last month's hair! I didn't think there'd be vampires on campus. And I don't care."

Prophecy Girl

There has been a prophecy that the Slayer will die...it's all very dramatic. This is my favorite episode of the first season. I get the impression that Joss Whedon thought the show might be cancelled so he really wrapped everything up in a nice little package. SMG has a great monologue about being "only 16" and not wanting to die. Like I said "very dramatic". I also have to give a shout out to the production team for having Buffy kick ass in a party dress and a leather coat...it is a very iconic look!

Buffy: Sure! We saved the world. I say we party!

season 2

Innocence

This is a truly awesome episode! Buffy has lost her virginity and things aren't as rosey as they should be. I swear Angel is so much hotter in this episode than he usually is. This is one of the few episodes that I truly have no problem with. I don't even mind the MEGAphors (and believe me they are HUGE)! BMS y'all!

Joyce: "So what'd you do for your birthday? Did you have fun?"
Buffy: "I got older.

Becoming (part 2)

This episode has ramifications well into the seventh (and final) season. One of the all time best episodes of the series (in my opinion). Buffy has to make a decision that no person should ever have to make. The smack down toward the end is the bomb! The scene between Spike and Buffy's mom is a definite BMS.

Buffy: I have had a really bad day, okay? If you have information worth hearing, then I am grateful for it. If you're gonna crack jokes, then I'm gonna pull out your ribcage and wear it as a hat.

season 3

Dopplegangland

I think the best way to sum up why I like this episode so much would be with a quote:

Willow: It's horrible! That's me as a vampire? I'm so evil and... skanky. And I think I'm kinda gay.

earshot

Buffy and the gang race against the clock to stop a potential school massacre. This episode was pulled by the network because it was around the time Columbine happened. It is powerful and the speech she gives at the end is just perfect.

Cordelia: Hi Mr. Beach. I was just wondering, were you planning on killing a bunch of people tomorrow. Oh, it's for the yearbook.

the prom

It's senior prom and everything that could go wrong does! Buffy decides that she will make sure her best friends will have the night of their lives...even if she has to die trying! This episode is very sentimental and I get teary eyed every time I see it.

Buffy: I'm gonna give you all a nice, fun, normal evening if I have to kill every person on the face of the Earth to do it.
Xander: Yay?

graduation day (parts 1 & 2)

Graduation is finally here! Of course, the end of the world is too and the only thing standing in the way is Buffy and her biggest army to date! Highlights for these episodes are the slayer smackdown, the creepy Mayor, and the first of several "dreams" that give us hints about seasons to come!

Oz: "Guys. Take a moment to deal with all this. We survived."
Buffy: "It was a hell of a battle."
Oz: "Not the battle. High school."
